Roses
Posted: June 18, 2020 Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: creative, Flowers, nature, Olympus camera, roses, soft focus 4 CommentsI won’t bore you all with yet another apology for being inactive here … I will just post as I’m able and I’m very grateful to have an outlet to share on with no demands or pressures, especially with the strange circumstances we are all currently in. I thank the Lord for His good gifts every day.
These are just a few ‘creative’ shots of the roses that are growing in my very small patio garden, which is currently somewhat inaccesible to me as the local council have erected massive scaffolding across it to access work going on to the flat above me. The squirrels are enjoying running up and down it though….
I do enjoy using the tools and effects that are available in my Paintshop software, but I am very aware that these can be overdone and the work can end up looking ‘orrible! I also use my camera’s inbuilt artistic modes at times – in particular the soft-focus which gives a lovely effect.

This last rose is really that colour! I’ve posted pics of it here before, but this is very recent. It was bought for me by dear friends a few years ago and has been flourishing , even though it catches all the strong winds that blow around the blocks of flats here.
Bye for now and many blessings, Eileen

I haven’t posted any pics for such a long time – I’m afraid ‘life’ intervenes – as it does for everybody of course, but it gets more frequent as you get older! It isn’t as if I’ve been completely inactive with my camera, for when I couldn’t get out and about, I still did indoor shots, but couldn’t sit long at my pc without getting migraines etc But, no matter, and you don’t want me to add my woes to your own!! I love my photography and thank the Lord every day for His gifts and it’s great to have this blog to share them on.
I also have my pics on Flick’r – if you are interested, just do a search for Flick’r Eileen Thompson and it should find me.
Anyway – I will endeavour to post more now ….

I’ll be posting some of my indoor macro pics next [I hope, Lol!] See you soon, and God bless you, Eileen
Roses and Orchids
Posted: April 2, 2018 Filed under: Flowers, macro, Nature, photography, Plant Portraits, Roses, Uncategorized | Tags: Flowers, macro, Olympus camera, Orchids, photography, roses 1 CommentIt was my Birthday and Mothers’ Day in quick succession this year , so I had lots of flowers, of which these are a sampling, to keep me happy with my camera !
As they are all ‘cultivated’ florist flowers/plants, I can’t give their botanical names – only that they are Roses and Orchids – but you already know that …Lol!
It’s a rainy day again today, so not much hope of me venturing out , but at the moment there’s plenty to keep my interest indoors. Living in a flat can feel quite isolated at times, but the Lord always manages to lift my spirits and there’s nothing like His beautiful flower designs to do that is there? I’m so glad He made us creative beings !
See you soon, Eileen
